Beauty isn't makeup

 Miss Holly-Rose's Advice

Ever heard the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well what if the person beholding that beauty is biased. Today's generation has been forced to believe that without makeup or plastic surgery ,you cannot look beautiful. It simply has been ingrained into their minds from ads, TV, and celebrities. Young teenage girls spend hours at home applying layers upon layers of makeup ,for what? To look twice there age that is. Makeup can be useful for a myriad of things: covering blemishes, skin conditions, old age etc. But since when does makeup define the beauty of someone. When your young and have yet to be developed, makeup stunts facial growth. When you wear it everyday and it becomes a routine your face has no chance to blossom. Your face changes so much from when your young to your adolescent years. Adding the weight of makeup changes that growth. I could scroll through any social media website and see the repetition of contour, bronzer, and thick eyebrows. People may think that its original and the new thing, but almost everyone does it. Looking gorgeous or beautiful shouldn't be determined by how much makeup your wear but rather the aspects of your face. Yes, every face has the same parts: eyes, mouth, nose, cheeks, etc. But no face is the same, eyes are different, possible freckles, lips can be small, or cheeks can be chubby. These are all wonderful aspects that women and young ladies today cover up with make up. Sometimes it's okay to walk out of the house with no makeup or only have on a little lip gloss. Natural Beauty is beautiful too. By wearing so much makeup we are confusing what is real beauty ,with what what can be bought at the store . It might seem like it's not that important but if people define beauty then there will be no room for error. Error like a natural ,make-up free face. If people believe there is no way to be beautiful without makeup then they don't know what real beauty is. Beauty isn't makeup, nor has it ever been.
